Hi daar, onthou my...?

4 Maande laas iets "gepost", ai, hoekom is dit so moeilik ?

Flowery Crochet necklace

This morning I'm making myself some cute flowery crochet necklaces.  It's a quick and easy little crochet project for such a lovely morning.  Birds singing, everything fresh and extra green after the summer rain, .....abundant joy and a feeling of contentment, my own moment of happiness - right Sarah (ha-ha).  I agree with what I read this morning in Sarah's book ....("moments of happiness available to all of us every day")

Back to my crochet which brings me many happy moments

Now I just need to work in the tail and then they are ready to wear !!!! yah !!!

May you find and recognize your moments of happiness today and enjoy it

Red and Aqua Crochet

After a lovely weekend, it's already been a busy week so far, but still focusing on the abundance , seeking the joy in simplicity and just slowly growing new habits and feelings of contentment as I crochet along singing a song....(ha-ha)

Sarah is still keeping me good company, and I have ordered my own copy of "Simple Abundance". I love this book so much and growing attached to it, it's a friends book I can't write down any notes or thoughts in it, therefor mine is on it's way and will probably be here in 2 weeks time, so excited !!!

Over the weekend I have worked a little bit on my red and aqua blanket.....
(I took a picture with my phone, but bare with me)

I just love the way red and aqua bring each other to life. Speaking of life, Joanna Field says "Perhaps if one really knew when one was happy one would know the things that were necessary for one's life"
May this week you discover all the things that really makes you happy and my you then have abundance of it in your life. Enjoy your hook/needles and wool.
Blessings

Christmas all over again

Just before Christmas I ordered some copies of  - Simply Crochet - , if you have not seen this crochet magazine before you are missing out!!!! So hop over to www.myfavouritemagazine.co.za and get yourself a copy or 2 ( or even 3 as was the case with me !!!).

Anyway, today I went to the post office and what a lovely surprise awaited me....yes my mags !!
I spent the afternoon relaxing on the stoop paging through them, over and over and over again. Just couldn't get of all the lovely crochet projects. Pure joy, simple pleasure, actually in my eyes Abundant pleasure (can you see me smiling, I am , ha-ha).

I'm currently busy with a white and red granny stripe blanket for my bed. No pictures yet, but within a few days I'll have some ready.  But for now a bit of "historical crochet" (2012/2013 crochet project).

Christmas 2012

December 2012. Rug

The day after Christmas (2012) zig-zag blanket

Seems like December 2012 were a very woolie month ha-ha !!
Some kniiting as well - knitted washcloths

a bit of nature..... beautiful

And what is Sarah saying about all this ? Well she sums it up very well......
"simple abundance, 1: an inner journey; 2: a spiritual and practical course in creative living; 3: a tapestry of contentment"

Wow...in that case my prayer for all of you... may simple abundance be part of your everyday life

a New starting point

One may ask ; how does it come about that you have a blog, but then you don't blog for more than a year ???  Only answer I have, ....Life happened...... and a lot of it !!!!
As Sarah Ban Breathnach quoted Zora Neale Hurston;  "There are years that ask questions and years that answer."

So there's no point in trying to explain it, therefore I decided to just show you some of the crochet goodies I made (yes there were still a lot of crocheting, just no blogging). So through the course of time at the end of a post I'll show you what I've made 2012 / 2013.

A bit more on Sarah... A few weeks ago a friend of mine "introduced" me to the writer Sarah Ban Breathnach.  And then it so happened that yesterday while visiting another friend of mine guess who was sitting on her shelf...yes Sarah.  So of I went with her copy of  "Simple Abundance. A Daybook of Comfort & Joy" (unfortunately I cannot find a ISBN number in the book, but it's the 1995 edition and I had a look on the internet, you can still find the book, it's still in print if you are interested.  There's a few other titles available as well)

Mmmm my kind of words for the new year ; "abundance", comfort", "joy", "simple".  Coming back to basics, slowing down.

So regarding the little chats that I'll have this year, I'm thinking Crocheting (would there be any question about that!!!!) , life and all things nice... and maybe a bit of Sarah's wise words if I may...

As promised, something woolie (is that even a word!!!! but all wool lovers now the meaning!!)

This lovely square is called "Waterlily" and is made out of Jan Eaton's book "200 Crochet blocks for blankets, throws, and afghans"
I made a few blocks, alternating the colours and the end product was a cushion cover (which I'll show you at a later state)

Keeping "simple" in mind, this is enough for one day and as Sarah quotes  Joe E. Lewis ......"You only live once - but if you work it right, once is enough"
